Hong Kong Cultural Celebrations
The Hong Kong Cultural Celebration takes place from April to May every year. These celebrations include the Fa Pau Parade, Piu Sik (floating colors) Parade, Bun Scrambling Competition in Cheung Chau Bun Festival, and the Birthday of Lord Buddha Festival and the parade on the water.
The Hong Kong Cultural Celebration is something you want to miss. It includes some of the most unique and significant festivals of the year from April to May. These four big events are the Birthday of Tin Hau, the Cheung Chau Bun Festival, the Birthday of Lord Buddha, and the Birthday of Tam Kung. It is a wonderful chance to join the locals and experience the fascination culture of Hong Kong.
The Birthday of Tin Hau celebrates the patron of fishermen. One of the major happenings is a parade with huge floral wreaths, lion dances, and a Fa Pau Lucky Draw. The Cheung Chau Bun Festival holds a bun scrambling competition, huge towers stacked with funs and a parade of floating colors.
The Birthday of Lord Buddha is one of the most spiritual and unique festivals celebrated in Hong Kong. To pay their respects people participate in a ‘Bathing with Buddha’ ceremony and eating green cookies reminding you that good things are to come. Lastly, prayers and colorful festivals celebrate the Birthday of Tam Kung. Bring your family to participate in all these unique and fun filled festivals in April and May.
