Hong Kong is often described as unique and there is certainly something uniquely special about the place. A territory of China since the handover from British rule in 1997, Hong Kong retains its status as a major world financial centre and in addition to finance and big business has a great many attractions for leisure visitors. Each Hong Kong hotel reflects the dynamic cultural elements which define the territory to the world.

Characterised by a skyline which incorporates more skyscrapers than any city in the world, the metropolitan environment and global appeal of Hong Kong attracts a great many visitors. Many have business to conduct in what is one of the leading financial centres in Asia and the world, and others are attracted by the diverse beauty and culture which effortlessly blends east and west and presents them in an unforgettable arena of cityscapes and rural splendour.

The territory is comprised of a series of islands and part of the Chinese mainland. Of the islands, Hong Kong Island contains much of what defines the territory while Lantau Island contains the site of the international airport and the world’s newest Disneyland. Across the stunning Victoria Harbour is the Kowloon Peninsula which together with the northern part of Hong Kong Island contains most of the urban life and developments. The New Territories offer visitors much of the protected rural land, nature reserves and country parks.

The typical Hong Kong hotel is modern and luxurious, offering high levels of service and rooms that are of a quality rarely seen in other parts of the world. The hotels range from budget accommodation which is clean and the equivalent of 2 star properties elsewhere in the world, rising to some of the finest hotels in the world at the five star end of the spectrum. As you would expect they offer all the latest modern conveniences and the technology built in to the rooms is usually the highest you'll see in any world city.

Families will make the most of the natural landscapes, outdoor activities and leisure parks such as Disneyworld, while all the metropolitan city influences and attractions are in evidence too, including a wide array of dining and shopping options. Hong Kong hotels are well placed for visitors to take full advantage of all the attractions on offer.

As a major financial capital, many hotel stays in the territory are determined by business and many of the hotels have a full range of business-oriented services and facilities for use by corporate guests. These will include business centres, often open 24 hours and equipped with copy, print, and fax facilities as well as computer and mobile phone hire services. There may also be secretarial, courier, and translation assistance.

A great many hotels will also offer executive options for rooms and suites. Often with additional features such as work desks and communications technologies. Executive guests also often enjoy access to exclusive clubs or lounges in which refreshments are served in addition to other amenities. The larger hotels will also offer a range of meeting and banqueting spaces for anything from boardroom meetings to international conferences and events.

While modern hotels will certainly have a contemporary style and elegance as befits the global stature of the territory, they will also have every modern amenity for guests' comfort and leisure time during their stay. Air conditioning and state of art television and internet connectivity is to be expected from the top accommodation options as is direct dial telephones and spacious en suite facilities. Leisure and recreational facilities are to be expected too, from fully equipped fitness suites to spa facilities and sports courts.

When it comes to accommodation in Hong Kong it is not all urban vitality and skyscrapers. There are rural retreats too set amidst the territory's wonderful natural environments of hills, valleys and coastal inlets. Many options are family oriented and offer a range of features and activities to keep the kids amused. Wherever the hotel is located the excellent transport network means most of the most popular family attractions are easily accessed.

Each Hong Kong hotel will almost certainly have some first class dining options. Like everything else in the territory dining is invariably a mix of east and west influences although Cantonese cuisine in particular is very popular. Diners can also expect some excellent Indian food and other international restaurants and a good selection of lounge options too, often with live entertainment.

A unique adventure awaits visitors to one of the world's great locations and a Hong Kong hotel will offer everything required to make that adventure both personal and memorable.
